My teaching philosophy is simple; the more you give to me, the more I give back to you. When a potential student first begins lessons, I always ask what they desire from learning a musical instrument. From that very first day, the expectation is set: if you want to play in a collegiate setting, I can prepare you for that, but if you just want to learn a new song for Sunday Service, I can help you with that too.

If you are a parent thinking of starting any sort of music lessons for your child, or a student wanting music lessons, but are hesitant to start, please contact me! As a teacher and someone who was once a music student, I believe that flute lessons not only helped me achieve and surpass my music-related goals, but also fostered my love for music, giving me something to look forward to everyday in primary school.

To me, teaching is one of the most rewarding things about being a musician. It is inspiring to know that you are actively contributing to helping a developing musician achieve their goals. My students come from a variety of backgrounds and have a variety of different needs and goals.

My style of teaching is flexible and depends on the needs/goals of the student. However, my number one priority is that students have fun. Music is meant to be enjoyed by those who perform and listen to it. While I do challenge and push my students to reach what I believe they are capable of, I try to balance lessons out with more fun activities such as playing duets and reading arrangements of popular songs.
